What is the Second Coming?

In the context of our faith, consummation represents the culmination of God's redemptive work through Jesus Christ, bringing to fulfill His promises and establishing His eternal kingdom. it is rooted deeply in God's promises of the following:

1. CREATION - God's creation was originally flawless, crafted perfectly for harmony and connection with Him. However, this divine perfection was disrupted because of sin. See Genesis 1-3

2. COVENANTS - The covenants made by God with Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David demonstrate His unwavering commitment in restoring what was once lost. Each covenant foreshadows a greater fulfillment in Christ. See Genesis 4 - 50; 1 Samuel and 2 Samuel; Book of Psalms

3. CHRIST'S FIRST COMING - The birth, ministry, crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ were transformative events in history. Jesus initiated the kingdom of God offering redemption and salvation to all mankind. See the four gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John

4. THE RETURN OF CHRIST - The fulfillment of God's plan will manifest with the return of Jesus Christ. This coming event is the hope we eagerly await. See the Book of Revelation

What is the nature of consummation? The Bible shows us what it is all about -

1. New heaven and new earth - Revelation 21:1

2. The marriage supper of the Lamb - Revelation 19:7-9

3. The final judgment - Matthew 25: 31-46

4. Fulfillment of god's kingdom - Philippians 2:10-11

As believers, we have a significant role in God's narrative redemption:

1. Be vigilant - Matthew 24:42-44

2. The Great Commission - Matthew 28:19-20

3. Walk in the Spirit - Galatians 5:16-18; Hebrews 12:14-15

As new believers, you need to grow in your spiritual life. Here are a few things to start with:

Read God's Word daily

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16

Pray everyday

And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. - Matthew 21:22

Attend church and bible studies regularly

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. - Hebrews 10:24-25

Share to others about God

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. - Acts 1:8

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believers in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way, and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Romans 10:9

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Becoming A Christian

Prayer is very important as you think about accepting Jesus as your Savior. Ask God to help you as you make this decision.

Know that God loves you. To learn about His love, read John 3:16

Everybody is a sinner. Admit that YOU are a sinner. Read Romans 3:23

Believe that sin will keep you away from God, read Romans 6:23

God forgives sin. When you admit you have sinned and sincerely ask God to forgive you, He will forgive you. Read 1 John 1:9

Jesus died so that all people can be saved, read Isaiah 53:6

You become a Christian when you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, read Romans 10:9
